Active holidays in Slovenia

In the south of the European continent, the small state of Slovenia is located. In this small country provided all the possibilities for tourists active recreation. The seaside towns of the Adriatic Sea, turbulent rivers, the slopes of the Julian Alps, the crystal clear lake, waterfalls and caves will undoubtedly be of interest to a wide range of lovers of extreme recreation. About Slovenia, we can say that this country is very diverse, uncluttered and unobtrusive, beautiful and very comfortable. The surrounding air is of ideal purity, since most of the country is covered with forests and mountains.
Getting to know Slovenia will begin with the resort town of Bled. The city is located forty kilometers from the main city of Slovenia, its capital Ljubljana, which is located on the shores of Lake Bled. The lake is fed by thermal waters and in summer the water in it can warm up to + 24ºС. In the summer, for lovers of extreme sports there are plenty of opportunities – mountaineering, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, parachuting. The resort provides tennis courts and a golf center. If desired, everyone can go paragliding or hang gliding. Next to the resort is a farm where everyone can go horse riding.
The city of Bled is the center for sending tourist and sightseeing routes to any part of the country. By the way, if you decide to spend your vacation in Slovenia – we advise you to familiarize yourself with the proposals of the tour operator Vand.
The highest point of Slovenia is Mount Triglav, located at an altitude of 2684 meters. Each tourist, if desired, is given the opportunity to “conquer” this peak. Mount Triglav for the inhabitants of Slovenia is a national shrine, so quite a large part of the area around the mountain received the status of a national park.
Mountain ranges stretch across the country, in connection with this a good option of rest for you will be hiking in the mountains, namely the ascent of Mount Triglav. Such an ascent for an amateur can be easily accomplished in 2 days.
At the very foot of the mountain there are centers and bases where you can spend the night. From the top of the hill you will see a colorful panorama of the Upper Slavin and Sochi valleys. Between these valleys is located Triglavsky National Park. On the territory of the park you can see a lot of unique natural monuments. Here you can also find unique species of flora and fauna that are under state protection.
The food served in restaurants, cafes and pubs is very tasty and most importantly, it is not very expensive. The local cuisine is derived from the neighboring countries – Austria, Hungary, Italy and Croatia. The main foods are dairy products, meat, fish, various vegetables, grapes and olives. Be sure to try the local wine and beer. Of course, the wines are not as famous as the Italian and French, but in terms of quality indicators it is not inferior to them. Try also the famous liqueur “Pletshka Khrushka”.
Slovenian is very similar to ours. So until 9 o’clock in the morning Slovenes say at the meeting “good yutro”, after 9 o’clock – “dober dan”. In the evening, they say “lakhno night” or “on a date.” There is no need to translate these expressions, because everything is clear.
